Economic conditions are not making things easy for many families in our community.

Some families here in Reno County:

• are struggling to pay their energy bill.
• have been laid off, still have not found jobs, possibly making stress high and volatile.
• find it very difficult to put enough food on the table for their families.
• have trouble helping their children with reading skills and homework.
• struggle to cloth their children, not to mention providing winter coats and gloves.
  

Many of the area agencies have seen a huge increase in demand of their services because of these hard economic times. The agencies' local resource funding has been reduced, even most state and federal funding is down.
