Aging Projects, Inc./Friendship Meals is a senior meal program that operates in Reno County.  API serves both home delivered and meals in a group setting called congregate meal sites.  We have congregate sites in Hutchinson, Buhler, Pretty Prairie, Sylvia and Turon.  We also provide home delivered meals to communities in Reno County that do not have congregate meal sites.  These isolated communities are Arlington, Partridge, Nickerson, Plevna and South Hutchinson.  Our meals are available to any individual who is 60 or older regardless of income.  We rely heavily on the services of local volunteers to keep our meal program in operation.  Our volunteers are of all ages.  In order for our program to operate effectively we need all seniors who are 60 (+) to eat one or two meals per month even if they are able to financially and physically handle cooking their own meals.  By each senior eating a meal a couple of times per month it makes sure that the meals are available for those seniors that need this service in order to remain independent and in their own home.  By eating a meal now you ensure that the program will be here in the future should you need it to maintain your independence as you age.  API never charges for our meals, we only request a contribution of $3.00 a meal.  Please call 620-669-8201 to find the address and phone number of the closest meal site to you.
